Places To See In Playa del Carmen
In this part of the Riviera Maya there are so many great places to see. First and foremost is the Beach, so many great Beach Clubs that will gladly take your money to lay on the free beach. Or you can hang out in any one of hundres or roof top pools. Also, you must walk up and down 5th Avenue in Play del Carmen. Then pick a cenote (several in things to do). Go to An ATV Park, On a Zipline or to a water park. Check out the Mayan Ruins in Tulum or Chichen Itza (Chicken Pizza). Go Shopping or eating at any of the fine International restaurants. Take a cooking class or go diving and scuba.
Playa del Carmen has recently undergone extremely rapid development with new luxury residential condominium buildings, restaurants, boutiques, and entertainment venues. Tourist activity in Playa del Carmen centers on Quinta Avenida, or Fifth Avenue, which stretches from Calle 1 norte to Calle 88. A pedestrian walkway located just one or two blocks inland from the beach, Fifth Avenue is lined with hundreds of shops, bars, and restaurants. There are many small boutique hotels on and just off Fifth Avenue and on the beach.
Playacar is a residential and tourist development in Playa del Carmen just south of the main urban area. Most of the all-inclusive hotels, the aviary, and the golf course are located in this development. There are two phases – phase 1 is mostly residential with a few hotels and some stores, while phase 2 contains the largest all-inclusive resorts as well as the golf course and a significant number of residential properties.
Our Favourite Place To Eat In Playa del Carmen
Senior Frogs is a lot of fun and has the best WIFI in town, but come on, NOT the best food in town. Ilios Greek Estiatorio Playa Del Carmen is the best and newest place on 5th to eat. It is just outside the Thompson hotel on 12th and 5th.
